The facilities committee met and received an update from Pine County Engineer Mark LeBrun for potential changes to the county facility in Sandstone.
In a later statement, LeBrun stated, “Since we have moved out of the John Wright building, we are tight for space and want a long-term solution in Sandstone.”
Currently, Human Services, Land Department, Soil and Water Conservation District, Veteran’s Services, Sheriff and Public Works are housed in two buildings on Highway 23 just north of Sandstone. Options may include future facility upgrades, demolition, sale of buildings or possible new construction.
These changes will be further discussed at the December 20 meeting in Pine City.
