A backpack with methamphetamine manufacturing components, also recently called a “portable meth lab,” was found underneath the Highway 123 bridge in Sandstone’s Robinson Park.
Law enforcement received a report of a possible lab or components of a lab in the climbing area of Robinson park. The items were treated as if they were and were made safe for disposal, stated Pine County Sheriff Jeff Nelson. He added that there are no suspects at this time.
“If someone sees suspicious items, they should report it to the Sheriff’s Office or law enforcement,” stated Sheriff Nelson. “The manufacturing process involves volatile chemicals and bad things can happen very quickly, so people should not handle the items.”
